Structural Engineering Approach for Designing Foil-Based Flexible Capacitive Pressure Sensors

Structural engineering plays an essential role in designing, improving, and optimizing electromechanical system, instinctively affecting its performance. In this study, design optimization, finite element analysis, experimental evaluation of capacitive pressure sensors were conducted. The air sensing application was demonstrated to characterize different sensors, which include a combination multiple rectangular cantilevers diaphragms (square circular-shaped). After the improvement, we found that square circular each with two trapezoidal exhibited highest sensitivity monitoring among investigated designs combine cantilevers. These then selected for further analysis acoustic monitoring. fabricated using do-it-yourself technique household materials such as post-it paper, posted tape, foil. Our approach offers alternative conventional cleanroom fabrication uses easily available fabricate affordable sensors. Therefore, is first step toward development democratized sustainable electronic devices are everyone on internet.
